A Safe Haven Neighborhood
Los Feliz has long been a home to diverse and vibrant immigrant communities who make up the essential fabric of our neighborhood as our neighbors, classmates, coworkers, family members, and friends. The Los Feliz Neighborhood Council explicitly affirms the rights of all residents regardless of race, country of origin, or immigration status, and officially declares Los Feliz a Safe Haven Neighborhood for all immigrants. We believe that fundamental American constitutional protections – including due process and equal protection – apply to every person, regardless of their status.

Know Your Rights
No matter your immigration status, you are protected by the U.S. Constitution. Knowing your rights can keep you and your family safe.
You have constitutional rights:
- You have the right to NOT OPEN THE DOOR if an immigration agent is knocking on the door.
- You have the right to NOT ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS from an immigration agent if they try to talk to you. You have the right to remain silent.
- You have the right to NOT SIGN ANYTHING without first speaking to a lawyer. You have the right to speak with a lawyer.
- If you are outside of your home, you can ask the agent if you are free to leave and if they say yes, leave calmly.
- GIVE THIS CARD TO THE AGENT. If you are inside of your home, show the card through the window or slide it under the door.
